Re: New and desperately unfit but hello :)

Oh no LinP, sorry your shopping trip was scuppered! Hopefully you'll be able to start running soon. And note, I said I ALMOST wish I were back at the beginning, haha! It is better to be at the end - but the feeling of progressing each week is so good, and you have all of that ahead of you. Make sure...

Re: New and desperately unfit but hello :)

Welcome and good luck with your first run! I'm 23, and not overweight, but I am seriously the weakest and most unfit person in the world. Or... I was! Before starting this programme I had never run for so much as 5 minutes straight before in my whole life. But the steps really do make it possible - ...

Re: Go me! :)

Congratulations Dixie! I totally know how you feel about this: 'I have cracked the 25 mins and there is no longer a challenge...' I've basically just taken a week off because I was feeling a bit randomly demotivated, and hating the dark, wet mornings. But this morning my boyfriend FORCED me out of t...

Re: Week 5 run 3 - The dreaded 20 minutes

Timl2k10, I had the same experience with my w5r3 a little while ago - I was nervous about it so I was going super slowly at the beginning, then realised I could speed up at the end! Well done and good luck with your continuing progress :)

Re: WOW....... That was tough!!!

Ugh, sorry you couldn't make it. OK here are my suggestions: Make a brand new playlist of awesome songs to listen to while you run, and when you're running, concentrate on listening to the song and singing along in your head, not on how much time has passed or how the running feels etc. Tell yoursel...

Re: Newbie :)

Well done for starting! The secret to getting ahead is getting started :) I'm sure you'll shift a few pounds if you keep at it, especially in the later weeks. I don't own a set of scales but my body has definitely changed shape and toned up a bit since I started! I'm on week 7 at the moment :) Good ...

Re: WOW....... That was tough!!!

Oh dear, sorry to hear you've been having a rough time. If I were you, I would pick up at w5r1. I bet you can do it, and you'll feel so encouraged when you do. Just take it super slow, trust that you can do it and go for it!

Re: WOW....... That was tough!!!

Well done!! Know exactly what you mean about getting bored of a particular interval patter. Thankfully it will soon pass! Also, if I hadn't had to repeat weeks I'd be done with the whole thing by now - but you can't expect too much of a body just learning how to run - it takes as long as it takes. A...

Re: w6r3 - ran for 30 minutes!!!

Thanks, it felt totally amazing! Back on the 25 minutes tomorrow though, I want to complete the programme properly and steadily, not in fits and starts. Can't wait!
