Re: Starting Week 5

I had an enforced break of almost two weeks. I got really frustrated that my healing process was not faster because I didn't want to lose more of the ground I had gained up until that point. So, in answer to your question ask yourself: "was I happy with what I was achieving and what the program...

Re: Week 6 (mon-wed-fri) by Linda231

Sorry to hear it was a bit of a hassle for you - I quite enjoyed it in a masochistic way. I'm not, however, looking forward much to W6R2 in about 2.5 hours time when I bunk off work a bit early. On the plus side I have a wine tasting to look forward to over dinner in the Mess afterwards so all my go...

Re: Mutual Support

You could repeat W5R2 but I felt that W5R3, whilst physically far from easy, was mainly a problem in my head. What's the worst that can happen? And it is to be a bit cooler today which is a bonus. Just go for it.

Re: Just finished my first run!!

I'm with Simongeorge on this one - carry some water. It could be a bit of hayfever type irritation - I know this has been a bad weekend for birch pollen and my throat was certainly affected when I ran yesterday. The water helped.

And well done - welcome to the madness of C25K.

Becca - good for you. We've all started out like you and been keen enough to stick with it, but frankly your upbeat view is inspiring. Thank you.

Re: Need advice on Knee Issues

What Laura and starknut said. Visit your doctor and get advice and don't endanger your knees. I damaged my knee as a youngster to the extent of losing my right medial cartilage. I am very careful of it and brace it well before running, but if it started to hurt like yours does I would be straight do...

Mutual Support

I ran week 5 virtually with three others. It was a huge help to have people at the same stage as me who I knew I could lean on if necessary as we shared support, sympathy, encouragement and a bit of humour. The elation I felt at running a whole 20 minutes was added to as I saw the others do the same...

Outstanding Laura - a big hurdle cleared so the ideal time for a bit of well deserved self satisfaction (and if I may suggest and nice big chardonnay or two). As regards what the others have said the mutual support in here is what makes this all go so well, and SimonGeorge I love your idea of a mass...

Re: Week 5 (mon-wed-fri) by Linda231

Big ups to you Linda - I am not a morning person by any stretch of the imagination but I am very aware of the heat and humidity in FL so might actually be persuaded to get up early if I lived there. However I don't so I tend to go after work (even finishing a bit early to get it all done before dinn...
