Re: Neck pain due to incorrect breathing?
Hiya TinyD, So yes, incorrect breathing technique can cause neck and upper back muscles to tense. Always try and breathe in through your nose and out with your mouth. Try and do this in time with your steps (in 2 3 out 2 3 etc). Also, make sure you don't clench your teeth when things get tough. This...

Re: First Run
Hiya! First of all, a big congrats on doing so well this far! It does get easier and you might be shocked at how quickly that can happen! :) As for exercising Inbetween running days, for the first 5 weeks of the program, I would walk the total workout time of the run you just completed. So if the ov...

Hiya! You will be absolutely fine!! Physically the app prepares you for the jumps / changes each week and even though the week you have just completed has felt touch, believe me, you are more than ready to face this weeks challenge! :) Don't worry about it and just take it easy and slow. You will do...

Re: Week 5 Run 3 20 mins YES! You can do it.
Well done Mate!! I think the whole week 5 run 3 is more a mental thing rather than physical! Once you realise that you CAN run for 20 minutes without stoping, 25 minutes then 28 minutes and finally 30 mnutes seems like they are hardly even worthy of a second thought!! Keep on pushing and in no time ...

No problem, glad it helped! Now if only the weather was nice for the Glasgow fair weekend was decent, I could get out for a run!

Re: New girl on the block
Hiya and welcome to the joys of running!!
There is a little app called Stretch Guru:run which guides you through a series of common after run stretches. It's not bad and does the job! Good luck and keep on smiling even when it gets tough!!

Re: 45 Year Old - First Run
Same here. Started back running after a long 10+ year break. I'm 45 as well and it's a lot tougher to do these runs now that I'm older. Good to know I'm not the only old timer here. :) Hahaha!!! Thanks! I try to think of myself as mature!! It certainly is tougher starting out when you are older, bu...
