Bangarang by Skrillex featuring Sirah. I hear the opening chords and it is ON.

Re: Help with Week 5 Run 3, please!

While I was out running today, it occurred to me that I forgot to give you a really important bit of advice: keep your breathing steady! This is what will make or break your long runs. Steady breath in, steady breath out through loosely pursed lips. Never let your breathing get away from you, becaus...

Re: Help with Week 5 Run 3, please!

I say this to everyone who expresses doubt about w5r3, but it always bears repeating: w5r3 is only a few minutes more than w5r1 and 2. I think four minutes more overall? It's just not having any walking intervals that is such a huge mental stumbling block. While you say you are already going very sl...

A lot of people really struggle with week six, it isn't just you! Stay positive and slow your pace, you'll do fine.

Re: What running insoles should i buy

Personally, I would not bother with custom orthotics unless my doctor told me to try them. And I have had running injuries due to overpronating! Never mentioned orthotics. What's more important is to go to a running shop and get proper shoes. A lot of them will have special features (see this link f...

Re: Got to the end but can't run Help

I have run this program twice now, and a different 5k trainer once, so I've done this particular grind three times total. Sometimes you just need to go back and try again, and there's nothing wrong with that! In fact, good on ya for not giving up!

Running Recommendations

I thought it would be neat to have a thread where you can recommend products or tricks that help you run your best. It would be a big help for the newbies, especially, but those with more experience also sometimes need a hand, too! My recommendation is for the ladies. You need a good sports bra. You...

Re: Anyone recommend a GPS app that will run with this?

Map My Run has a decent free app, but I've never used it with Get Running. Runmeter is another good one, but I generally use Nike+ Running.

Re: Week 5 run 3 - DONE!

Twenty minutes is entirely possible. The intervals in week 4 and 5 are a little less than 20 minutes, put together. If you can do the runs in week 4 and beginning of week 5, your head may tell you 20 minutes straight is impossible, but trust your body. It got you to week 5, it can get you through w5...
