Re: Week 7 (mon-wed-fri) by Linda231

Keep up the good work, Linda. Maybe your cholesterol needs a little more time. Your LDL came up so that's encouraging. Robin, I hope your knee feels better by now. Thanks for making me realize that week 8 is fast approaching!! Today I barely got thru the 25 min. run. I'm running outside from ...

Re: Treadmill vs outdoor running

I hate predictive texting. It should have said it will take me longer than anticipated to run the 5k than when I was timing on the treadmill.

Re: Treadmill vs outdoor running

I ran outside this morning. It was very different and I'm glad I thought about this before my 5k. I hope I have enough time to transition myself. I enjoyed the scenery. The weather was cool and breezy. I didn't stare down the timer like I usually do on the treadmill. Some of the terrain was slightly...

Re: Treadmill vs outdoor running

Thanks for the encouraging words. No, I haven't added an incline to the treadmill. Yes, it's because of the heat that I run inside and I haven't been doing morning runs when it would be cooler. I like the treadmill. I like seeing my distance and speed, etc. it motivates me. I'll definitely look into...

Treadmill vs outdoor running

How different is running on a treadmill from running outdoors? I've been training on a treadmill and am doing week 7 run 2 tomorrow. I think I'd better run outdoors tomorrow since my 5k is in 10 days. I hope I haven't sabotaged myself by not running outdoors for all of these weeks.

Re: Week 7 (mon-wed-fri) by Linda231

It was great to hear back from you, LInda. If I had known what a great support system there is on this site, I would have joined on day one! Better late than never. I'm glad to have found you all now. I almost didn't run today. I kept making excuses. Guess why I finally ran? Because I didn't want to...

W6R3

Wow! I can't believe I just ran 25 minutes yesterday. I was quite hesitant about that run. I've been running mostly on the treadmill due to the heat in Florida and my availability to only run afternoons. I'd love to hear from anyone that is in my same week of challenges. We can cheer one another on ...

Re: Week 6 (mon-wed-fri) by Linda231

I just found this forum and I think I will be glad I did. I am getting ready to run w6r3 today. I'm dreading the 25min run! Like you, I'm not sure I like running but I really love the sense of accomplishment afterwards. My 5k is June 16. Slow and steady is the name of the game for me today.
