Re: Week 1

You have the right attitude! The great thing about this program is that it has 9 weeks of goals. Many of us found week 5 run 3 daunting as we worked our way through week 1 and 2. Some of us found it daunting the day of. Just worry about each run when it comes. Before you know it, week 9 will be over...

Re: W8 R3 Why isn't it getting easier!

The upside is you are into the easy to track portion. What I mean by that is you warm up 5 min, run, then cool down 5 min. So do that. Warm up, run as long as you can, cool down. I say this because you say you are close. Could you do what you do now when you started? Probably a resounding no! That m...

Re: Finished Week 6 Run 3 today!! I can't believe it!!!

Week 5 run 3 and week 6 run 3 are the 2 mental challenges and you passed them! The only challenge now is to get out there 9 more times and then look for your next goal to achieve. Be careful, be smart and enjoy the accomplishment on week 9 run 3. Way to go!

34 days after the program...

Well, it is now 34 days after completing the program. I hit all my program goals when I completed week9 run 3. I ran, no walking or stopping for 30 min. I ended up in a 5K on what was also week 8 run 3 and ran the entire 5k albeit in 35:42. Since the program, the goal was to simply keep running 3-4 ...

Re: Calf pain

The closest I got to calf was shin splint, also shoe related. However, I got those walking at a fast pace, bad shoes and very lazy on form. I used a compression sleeve for about 2 weeks, got new shoes and have not been bothered in 7 weeks since the pain went away.

Re: Wk 8 feeling good!

You are there! 5 more times, then work on speed. 30 min is mental. On that last one on week 9 go a few extra steps Then you know you can do more than 30! AWESOME JOB!

Re: W9R3 done! Graduation day!

Thanks for the info. I have run keeper and have used it to track much of my C25K activity. Will take a look at some of the programs... I really do need the discipline of a program. Would love to be back in Cambridge again now that I am running, I generally love East Anglia, at least what I remember ...

Re: W9R3 done! Graduation day!

EXCELLENT!!! Sounds like your follow on is a little more aggressive than mine. I have managed to carve out 1hr of time on week days, so a 10k is probably the most realistic distance goal while getting the speed down to 1k per 6 min is the most realistic speed goal. But since I could not run more tha...

Re: Struggling!!

You did 24 min!!! Ok, it wasn't 25, but who cares. Next week you will get that minute and after 3 time you will be ready for 28min. Good luck!
