Re: Never run before

You will be fantastic! Just know that none of us had ever run before! 6 weeks later, I just completed my very first straight 25 minute jog! I wasn't doing any exercise when I started. It is very much psychological as it is physical. If you struggle today, you may find it easier to spend one week goi...

Re: I am ashamed of myself!

Oh my goodness starky, I know exactly what you are talking about now. I am in Week 6 and have struggled! I also found the 20 minute run last week achievable. I think I have to repeat it..you were ashamed of not finishing 25 minutes!? I didn't finish the second 10 minute of day 2! Got to the last 5 m...

Re: New Guy- Help -Shoes and Tracking my route

Doesn't the Nike one have a device which needs to be installed? I figure I will be in New Balances. Thanks for the feedback. Do you know of a link to recommended stretches? I almost feel stupid asking, but figures I would inquire. Thanks again. I have put a picture on my blog that shows how to do s...

Re: Week 1 day 1...couldn't finish

Well done Todd! I am so excited for you! :D Your body will quickly adapt and tone and you will slowly build up into longer runs. Just remember, we were all in the same boat at some stage, fighting the same psychological demons and endurance barriers. You just need to push through and know that you w...

Re: Festive seasonal running disorder?

Oh my goodness, me too! I think I am going to have to repeat week 6, as the holiday indulgences have added an extra load to carry when I run :P I am really starting to notice that what I am eating the day before is effecting my running efficiency. It is simple really nice salads and meat, chicken or...

Re: Running at 4:30am a bad idea?

As with bloomers (hehe I remember bloomers from primary school netball days), I too live in Australia. I get up and do my run from around 5am and I love starting at this time. It makes you feel so happy for the rest of the day knowing you completed a session. I think you should start your runs on a ...

Re: What are your running habits?

I ensure that I run between 5am and 6am in the morning. I first started at this time as I did not want people to be about when I first started, I was a bit shy (haha remember those days!?). As I am in Australia and it is summertime, the sun is up at 5. This gives me a good hour after the run to take...

Re: W4 to W5 & cranking it up a notch!

I've just run w5r1. Like you I struggled with week 4 and was really sure I needed to repeat the week, I had to stop and walk a little on the 5 minute runs on the first day and after that I felt I was going incredibly slowly. This morning though I thought, 'hey I'll give week 5 a try, it's a beautif...

Re: Week 3 easy but week 4 killing me.

Oh my goodness, I struggled in week 4! It was one of the hardest weeks mentally and physically. I was definitely sucking in the air this week. Day one week 5 = great! What a difference.

How did you go?
