Re: Kit and Tips for Cold Weather Running?
That's about it. And the feeling of unstopability afterwards (if not always during)!

Brilliant Dawn! Very well done for getting started, that's the single most important step. I'm really happy that you like the app

Re: Where to Run
Before anyone asks, if I do an iPad version of Get Running for use on a tread mill, I'm not putting in an embedded book reader. :-) I tried a treadmill once for about 20 seconds and found it pretty unnerving, but I can definitely understand the attraction with the weather outside at the moment. Then...

Re: Climbing and Running
I was doing some freelance work over in Dusseldorf when I did my 20 minute run. I was almost totally convinced that I wouldn't finish it. The run I did out there took me around and around this big block of houses and at the end was a pub and restaurant. I think I ran past the diners there about four...

Re: Sticky: Introductions!
Heh – it's true, I know some other coders that climb, and the three or four times I've given it a go, I've loved it. Wish I had a wall close to hand: I think it is something I could get in to.

Re: What are you going to do next?
I'm really glad you found a way to continue, and you had the determination to do so – that's brilliant! I know nothing about shin splints, other than I understand they hurt! Are they something that happens if you push yourself too much? If you build up gently, are they less likely to happen? :-) I'v...

Re: What should we do next?!
That looks cool, thanks for the link.
My issue would be that it seems to need specific music, as far as I can see? We could maybe provide some options for that as downloads… Have you used this plan, by the way?

Re: Sticky: Introductions!
Hi Tim – @getrunningapp is following you on Twitter, so we'll bug you if you don't keep up the good work ;-) Regarding shin splints, the two thoughts I've heard are run on soft ground – grass if possible. Another option is to run on a cross trainer or "elliptical" at the gym. I like gettin...

Re: Sticky: Introductions!
Hi, I'm Benjohn. I'm currently living in North London with my wife, Misa, and our two sons. As Matt said, welcome to the forums! Here you'll be able to share your running journey with others who are jogging along the same route with you – all the highs, and the occasional lows. I developed Get Runni...

Where to Run
So far, I've done almost all my running on the pavement. I read an article a few days ago (http://saveyourself.ca/articles/running.php) that reckons it's a great idea to mix things up a bit, and incorporate a healthy dose of cross country. After reading it, I dived down in to the park on my last run...
