Re: Week 1 day 1...couldn't finish
Hi!
I'd be tempted to press on, but maybe slow down a little for the next run, if you can? Really pacing yourself at the start can leave you with more energy for those last five minutes... It's all very personal, though! Trust your instincts and see what happens...
Cheers,
Matt

Re: Nervous about W5r3
Well done! Seventeen minutes is brilliant And breathing can take a while to get figured out. It's all easier with practice.

Re: Really struggling on week 5 run 3
The best thing to do if you're struggling is to drop back a little and repeat some of the earlier runs, the ones you've already done and know you can do, for a bit more practice. It's easier to build more stamina without losing heart that way. Perhaps head back to the beginning of Week 4? Repeating ...

Re: New phone????
Hi there! If Get Running doesn't figure out where you were (it'll depend on how you restore your phone data, I think) you can easily skip to wherever you want. Open up Get Running and use the "Progress Path" at the bottom of the screen. You can slide the Progress Path left and right by swi...

Re: Week 5 run 3
Hi kashers, Lots of people look at Week 5 and wonder whether there's a mistake! Nope, there's no mistake. At that point, we really think you can run 20 minutes without a break. It's a bit of a leap of faith, I know, but a lot of people do make the jump more easily than they were expecting. And don't...

Re: 3000m training
Hi loverrunner123,
This forum's for complete beginners at running -- people getting started with their first 5K using the Get Running app. An experienced runner like yourself might have better luck asking somewhere like Runner's World, maybe?

Downtime -- sorry!
Hi all, My apologies for the recent forum downtime. Our web server had a power problem at the weekend, and I'd foolishly assumed that the forums would come back up when it did. The forums are now being monitored by the same system as the rest of the site, so if we have a similar problem in the futur...

Re: Nike+ iPhone GPS 6% different?
I don't think two GPS apps will ever read exactly the same. There's a few different factors involved: the sampling rate, the "smoothing" of the results, error detection and correction (sometimes a GPS's accuracy will drop and you'll suddenly "move" two miles from where you were f...

Re: First day (fail)
Yes. Yes, there is hope. Also: there is no fail here. Not getting out and trying might be a fail, but getting out and doing five out of eight runs is a definite success. If you go out in two or three days and try again, and keep on doing that, then you'll get better, and sooner or later you'll do ei...
