Re: W5 R3 - 20 mins

Ha.... you think you talk about it now! I am at Week 8 and every time I complete a run i talk about it as if I had just done it for the first time. It still continues to amaze me! Congrats to you. It is a huge accomplishment and should be celebrated!

Re: Treadmill vs Outside

I ran on the treadmill until about week 4, then I transitioned outside and I am so glad I did. Now that I am in Week 8 the thought of running for 28 minutes straight on a treadmill bores me. I have had to take some runs to the treadmill because of a massive heat wave in Colorado and I just can't do ...

Re: Found my confidence... moving on to W8.

It is Tuesday, and I haven't run since Thursday of last week. I'm really worried I'm not going to be running again anytime soon in the great outdoors. Our temps are in 100 plus and last night it was still 100 at 7:30. For Denver, that is just crazy. I know that I am going to the gym after work to ge...

Re: Finishing WK7, Concerned about 5k on July 22nd

I had a similar experience on Wed. I had been struggling with completing the entire three runs in a row of week 7 for about two weeks. It was a total head thing and that I tried to pick up my pace because i wanted to cover more distance. Big fat fail! I took my running to indoors on the treadmill wh...

Re: Cheated a little......

It is such a mind game! I do the music thing too.... I always bargain with my running by saying by the time this song ends i will be done, or another 5 minutes will be up, etc. I also don't do well if I am running a route I have always run. I don't like knowing how much further I have to go distance...

Re: Finishing WK7, Concerned about 5k on July 22nd

I agree keep doing what you are doing. I think you will do just fine in actually being able to complete the 5k. I often find that I think I could keep going when coach tells me I am done (sometimes, not always). If you are already shaving time off your running I think by the time your race gets here...

Oh and your legs might be feeling tired because you are doing too much on your off days. I am guilty of it as well, and I sometimes feel my best runs come from the runs I do when I had did nothing cardio, etc the day before.

Re: Finishing WK7, Concerned about 5k on July 22nd

You bring up a great point I have been pondering. How many people actually complete this program and can run a 5k in 30 minutes? I think the program is kind of misleading for the majority as it seems to be more of a program that gets you to run for 30 minutes straight as it is always telling you not...

Re: Week 9 (mon-wed-fri) by Linda231

I did it! I did my week 8 run 1 yesterday and I made it through. I did it the day after my week 7 run 3 which I know I'm not supposed to do but I am having to play a game with the weather. I won't run in the morning before work, I am just not that motivated and hate to wait until late evening when i...
