Linda - well done on W8R1. And Simon - if you're on penecilin take it easy and get well.

I'm taking a view again tomorrow as to whether it's too early to get going on W8.

I've been working and sleeping. Back to running this afternoon. Wk 8 r2. At this point I hope to just keep running. Dont have enough time to work on speed. I'm not ready for this 5k. More ready than if I hadn't started this program, but I wish I had another 2 weeks to prepare!! Oh well. On the up note, work is done for the next 2 weeks!! Yay!!! I hope you feel better and can run today, Robin. Be careful!! You seemed to be pretty close to my running speed before your injury. When is your next run, Linda? You may be the only one finishing on time!! I Plan to do w8r2 today, wk9 r1 tomorrow and w9r2 Thurs before my flight. Then repeat week 9 to officially finish when I get home. Prob finish June 25 or so.

Sue my next run in Wed morning if it don't rain on me. Have I got the slowest running speed of all us? I bet you've heard the story about the turtle and the hare haven't you? I'm just gonna try and complete the program, then I'll work on speed. I'm not registered for a 5k so I'm not in a big hurry but I do want to finish. Stay strong guys, your doing great!
Linda

Hi Everyone! I made my own post on the thread as I am only on week 7 still! The post explains why! Anyway, on one hand the selfish side of me is thrilled that a few of my friends are still with me. The human side of me is totally bummed two of my buddies are sick and injured! I hope everyone is on the mend soon!

W8R2 complete! Out the door at 6:50. I've been having trouble with lower back pain, Was a little rough this morning. My speed is better but still slow. Thanks Sue for telling me about the endomondo app. It says i did 1.86 miles in 28:42. I forgot to turn it off till 42 seconds after  and Mondays run was 1.74 miles in 28:32. So this mornings run was a little faster. According to this my 5k will take around 45 min. I'm trying to stay focused and motivated, it would be so easy for me to stay in bed. I'm hoping after this program is through, that I will continue on doing this on the same schedule, I really dont want to run for 45 min though, so I guess I will just try and work on my speed, and do what I can in 30 min. I'm gonna learn to love to run! That's my goal! I have also been using whey protein powder in my green vibrance smoothie with 1/2 a banana, 1/4 cup blueberries and a 1/2 a mango each morning. I only put the protein powder in on the days I run though. You know I can really tell a difference if I miss a day. Hoping it will help build up and strengthen my leg muscles. I'm using this smoothie as my breakfast meal replacement. After drinking it I'm not hungry till around 2 or 3, it's that filling. keep in touch guys, I can't wait to hear how it's going. Hope your knee is good again Robin, it's good you took a break so you don't do serious damage. Simon, wondering how are you are doing on your antibiotics? I heard someone say one time "I'm not where I wanna be, but at least I'm not where I was". That's kinda like us. We have came a long way on this running journey. I cant believe we've made it this far. It boggles my mind that I can run 5,10,15,20,25,28 minutes. Before I couldnt run to the mail box and back. I could never or would have never got this far without this program and support forum, it's been a great experience for me, that I will never forget. Hope you all have a great Wednesday. Will hollar back on Friday!
Linda ;)

Linda, your speed sounds almost a match to mine. I covered 1.69 miles yesterday in 25 minutes. It feels like I am going superfast but my app says different. LOL.

Great to know your still going strong Linda. I'm on the mend, thanks for asking, Sunday, just walking upstairs felt like week5 run3! My mind is itching to get running again, I too don't want to lose this good habit, but the body, alas, is not yet able. I hope to resume on Monday, I last did wk6 run3 on Friday, I was thinking of redoing wk6 next week, but I'm not sure, anyone got any advice?

Simon, I suggest going forward with your program. If its too hard, then go back a week. You may find you can pick right up where you left off. If you don't try, you'll never know.
Linda, I skipped to my wk 9 r1 today. I'm not going to run again till my 5k on Sat. It was an awesome run. Instead of focusing on my time , I was focused on distance. I found myself wishing for more time as the 30 min mark approached. I even ( for the most part) regulated my breathing. I never thought I'd wish for more time!!! I ran 2.7 miles in 30 min. Im ok with that.
Having a 5k to work towards is real good motivation. I highly suggest signing up for one that is scheduled within a month or 2. You'll be ready. If you sign up for one let me know. I'd do it with you.
I hope everyone is mending and getting back to running soon.
I'll be in touch after my trip.

Good run Sue, looking at around 35 minutes for the 5K and I saw your forecast condition on facebook for Saturday - perfect for you.

I'm aiming to get back in the saddle on Saturday (home location) or Sunday (weekday work location) and just hope my knee holds out, if not it's straight off to my doctor in case it is a cartilage problem which could be a bad thing.

Simon - just go for it and good job Laura and Linda. Soon be on W9 ladies!

Great job, my friends! I am so excited to hear about your 5k cardiochick! I am looking forward to a good W7 R3 run this evening!!!!! Hope the thunderstorms hold off. I don't mind running the rain but Denver thunderstorms can be MEAN and I have no desire to get hit in the head by hail or struck by lighting! :)
