Hi, I'm starting again, I completed this program the first time in 2010, then I moved from Oz to Italy and got totally out of routine (excuses I know). I then did it again in 2011, loved it so much, felt fantastic, winter came. Stopped again. Now, I am quite a fussy runner, I refuse to run when it's +30c or in the dark (early mornings are out), finally now I have the prime conditions to get going, absolutely no excuses, and now....I feel a block (I'm actually searching for excuses). It's humbling to start again, I'm scared to see how unfit I am now, how much fitness I've lost, I know the first run is the hardest too so I'm putting it off....but, I want to get fit again, I know how happy I was when I was running....any tips on getting back into it??
Cheers from Trento, Italy.

Re: Motivation tips
Just get out there and do it when your feeling in the mood, I only found this programme because I some how fancied a run, what lasted about 4 minutes lol, but I got home n found this the day after I though I'm going to give a blast and now I'm on week 8 run 2 and loving it although sometimes the going is tough and rough.
Just go for it tomoz when energy levels are feeling good, I hope u get back into again, luckily in England were I live the weathers not to great so don't really have too much problem with it been warm just when it's raining haha

Just get out there and do it - you'll feel SO much better afterwards.
I too started a similar programme a few years ago and gave up after a couple of weeks. Just started again this week, and even though I'm totally back to square one, I feel great for getting out there and just doing something.
I find this blog has lots of really cute motivational drawings that help get me in the mood to run: http://arthlete.tumblr.com
Here are some of my favourites, specifically about starting running:

And one simple one that I am considering printing out and taping next to my bed:

Thanks for your replies guys, I'll check out those blogs now...it all helps and it's so great to have this positive forum to refer to when we need a boost. I love thinking about runners in different countries huffing away to this same program, totally awesome!
FYI I completed week 3 run 4 today. I nearly lost it again but something got me back, I googled 'benefits of running', no denying it is there and right now, I have absolutely no excuses. Feeling greeeat!!
