Thanks Catgal. I just did W5R1, the weather is actually getting a bit cold for Florida this time of year, which is great! (Cold in my area is in the 50's) it went really well. Glad to not be sweating like a pig.
Regards increasing speed: I've been doing a bit of research in the Internet about running and losing weight, and the consensus seems to be you need to increase intensity to lose weight. Wether your looking to lose weight or increase your pace the consensus seems to be to do intervals. You run as hard a you can for say 20 seconds or a minute, then you spend the same amount of time recovering (either slow jog or brisk walk). The idea is to get your heart pumping faster and acclimate your body to faster running in short bursts.
There are also "fartleks" where you vary the pace of your run from fast too slow as you see fit.
