*** ~ Please, Advice On Running Schedule & Shoes ~ ***

Post by runningproblems »

Hi! Would someone be so kind as to link the best running schedule for someone who can run 1/4 of a mile before getting tired.

Or my feet/leg hurts.

Or the side of my stomach hurts.

Running at normal pace.

I'm 90-100 pounds.

Goal is to be able to run 3 miles straight.

Please, a schedule that reaches the 3 mile goal the QUICKEST.

Please link. This whole thing is so hard for me.

I need to get a fitted shoe also -- viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2211&p=9719

Any recommendations on the best store to ask?

Find a local place, a small shop. Get fitted. Find your shoe. Don't buy it right away, though, go home and search online for it because you may be able to find a better deal.

As for a running schedule, I found the Get Running program to be perfect. I've done other couch to 5k programs and this one feels the most... achievable, I guess is the word I'm looking for. Some others out there feel a lot harder, with longer intervals sooner in the program, which can be discouraging.

But if everyone does that, goes to a small shop and benefits from their advice and time and then buys the shoes online because it's cheaper, then eventually there will be no small local shops where you can try the shoes and get expert advice.
