It was my second go at the programme. I messed up the first time by doing 8 weeks and then the Dublin City Marathon. I can actually run for over 40 mins now. Training is well underway for this years marathon - the goal is to run the whole thing this time.

Thanks Get Running. I'm a runner!

Now, I'm off out for another run....

Just completed the Get Running App, and very grateful to everyone that created this fantastic app and for everyone's support on here.

I remember struggling on week 1, in fact every single week I looked at the plan, thinking "I cannot do this" but I did and if I can, then anyone can, so if you are reading this in the early stages, Keep at it.

I ran my week 9 run 3 run today! I am very proud if I say so myself. 9 weeks ago I could barely run for the first minute, and today I complete 2.5 miles at a consistent 12 min. mile/5 MPH pace (I've been training on a treadmill). Next week I will begin training for a 5K by running outside. Thank you for this app and helping me reach my goal!

Wow, I did it. I actually did it. I completed the programme. Thanks to the Get Running guys for putting together an excellent app. My friends and family purchased other C25k apps and didn't get any of the features I enjoyed about yours like the vocal reassurance and encouragement from the lovely lady.
I have gone from a very excellent couch potato with years of experience to a runner. I am really looking out for something to take me onwards now. Is there anything coming in the pipeline?

Cheers

Completed: Forgot when exactly, as I've never really finished the program. went until week 7 or 8 then I ran without the app.

I realized today that I have never post in the graduate forum. I beat my personal record today, 47 min run and almost 7k( I know it is slow) but still it made me think about when I started and the achievement accomplished so far.

I remember a year and a half ago starting the first week... sore shine, sore knees, sore feet out of breath :) and the first time you try the 2o min run OMG how scared I was. I have lost almost 2 stones since, eat better, and feel healthier.

Thanks to this app that get me started.

a runner among others

Comments: it took me 12 weeks, repeated 2 and had a week off due to a foot problem. This has been one of thee best things I've ever done for myself. I always thought I couldn't run. Now I know I can, I do and I love it.

The psychology of this app was spot on. Just about every time I'd start to get panicky, here would come that familiar voice to encourage me. I had two really bad runs - one in week 3 and one in week 4. Each time, I tried to just let it be. Luckily, both times, the next run was fine, so I just kept advancing through the program. For now I just run 30 minute-ish or 3 mile-ish runs 3 times a week. I need to let it soak in that I can actually do this and its not a fluke. What's next? We'll see!

Comments: WOW. I actually did it! I struggled at the start with running for 1 minute, and when I scanned through all the runs, I thought 'No way am I ever going to be able to do that'.... But I did! I had to repeat a week after having problems with my foot, but I didn't let that put me off. My step dad (who turned 60 this May) has been my running partner and has kept me going, giving me the encouragement that I needed. He wants to start training to run the London Marathon in three years time! Hmmmm, we'll have to see about that, lol. But where do we go from here? Do we try to improve our pace or do we lengthen the time?
