G'day all, I live Lyon - and have just done finished my first session. Love the app - so easy to use and very motivating - and really enjoyed having the iPhone for music - never tried it before. Forgot my gloves though - and nearly got frost bite. Will also have to get decent head phones (that don't fall out) and armband for the iPhone. I am 55 and have not exercised consistently for years - after running marathons and ultra marathons in Cape Town in my 20's. Decided that 2011 will be the year of the half marathon - aiming for a half in Lyon in October. Any other takers?? Meantime, looking forward to my next session on Thursday...
Cheers
Nick

Hi Nick
i am in Paris an if you think its cold in Lyon you should try it here its blinkin freewing. I have just done run 2 week 1 and i think my hands actually fell off at one point they were so cold. I have an arm band and some sony headphones with over the ear things that were about 10€ they are great and with the arm band i am set up.
I also tried to use runkeeper app but couldn't get a gps signal and had to start running, it is supposed to be a great app for tracking runs and mapping out where you've been or where you could run I would love to the Lyon half marathon but alas I don't think I will be anywhere near ready, i am on the large side of large and have never run before...good luck to you though, enjoy it.

Yes, it is a challenge running at this time of the year Jon! Especially as I have lived Cape Town and then Brisbane most of my life. I am certainly looking forward to the spring - and hope to be able to celebrate it with a 5 k fun run in about March or April. If my knees hold up. Thanks for the links - funnily enough I was looking at the arm band on Amazon yesterday and think I will get it. I was looking at these head phones - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-80-E ... b_title_ce The are a little bit more expensive than the Sony ones though. Good luck with your running programme! I look forward to reading about your progress on the forum.
