Week 5 and half way through the programme

Post by Redro »

Well, am feeling a little bit chuffed - this is one New Year's resolution that I have managed to stick to - thanks to Get Running! Finished Week 5 Run 2 - so I guess that puts me half way through the programme. It has been a long, long time since I have finished 2 x 8 minute runs, and it feels very good. Better still, my 55 year old knees are holding up so far. They got pretty hammered when I was younger, training and running marathons and ultra marathons (Two Oceans, Cape Town). My goal is a 10 k race in Lyon, France in October - the furthest I intend to run - ever. The lab is enjoying the training sessions too - she, with the matching grey chin. One of these days I will be able to call myself a jogger again! My next run will be on Sunday - in Madrid. Hopefully a lot warmer than here in Lyon.

Cheers

20 minute run in Madrid. Lovely and warm here this week - almost feels like spring. Week 5 finished. Longest run in years.

Great job. I have to agree. It was the longest run in years, but felt great afterwards.

Looking forward to week 6

Enjoy the week's runs, Tim. One more run here in Madrid before I head home to France.
