Week 4, & feeling nervous!

Post by Emmaa05 »

I've just done wk3, run 3, although I think I will do it one more time again tomorrow before wk4. I am really panicking about this next week, as I haven't particularly found wk3 easy. My runs always have some inclines in them, & i really struggle with my breathing on them. For me I think breathing is one of the hardest things, as I find myself 'panting' which just makes it all harder!! Anyone have any good ideas to help me breathe better for next week? :?

The first thing I did was to take two or three really deep breaths with a Vicks menthol inhaler, the one shaped like a chubby crayon, just at the end of the warm up before running. This helps get plenty of air in. I also make sure I run to music with a definite beat and practice breathing deeply before I run, in time to the beats, to 'pattern' my brain to breath regularly. Hope this helps.
