OMG, I can't believe it, I finished w5r3 whoop whoop, a full 20mins run non stop. At the end of the run when she said only 10seconds left, I felt like crying, from both exhaustion and relief lol it's amazing when you think 5 weeks ago I was struggling with a 1min run!!
I don't think you need to redo this week, I think on most of my runs I've had to stop for a few seconds to recharge, but always managed to progress to the next level and I'm sure you will too, just think 2days ago I had to stop on my 2nd 8min run but managed 20mins today so I suggest you plod on with the next week, I'm sure you'll be amazed at how well you do
Come I now, you can do it :-)

Well, have just been out and attempted W4 R1. Managed the first 3 min run, and was amazed when I managed the first 5 min one, the second 3 min run was ok but the last 5 min run was a disaster!! Again it was uphill and I had to stop about 3 times!! Am so frustrated that I can't find a route which isn't uphill for the very last run as its quite demoralising!! I was really happy to be able to run for 5 mins tho initially. I am now totally determined I will conquer that hill if its the last thing I do!!! I now have my stubborn head on!!
Let me know how you get on going into week 6!!

Congrats on running the 5mins, see I said you could do it. I know what you mean about the hills, the only reason I managed the 20mins is because it was on the flat!!
Shifts are getting in the way this week, working 4pm-3am don't go to bed until abot 6am so I'll have to run when I get up and I've slready discovered I'm not a morning runner so not looking forward to the next run
Must've got the bug bad ( or the fact that I'm signed up for a 10k in Edinburgh) because I'm going on holidays next week to Egypt and I've bought summer runner kit to run out there so I don't drop back weeks in training!!! I'm going to be turning into one of the people who I comment on and call mad for running/exercising whilst on holiday! Lol
When your running up the hill do you drop your pace to a slow crawl even before you start feeling the effects of the hill, cause that's what I do, I even think I could walk as fast as I run sometimes :-)

Hiya, hope all is well, decided to change w6r1 to trying to run 20mins again. Had to stop twice to catch my breath but managed to make it to the 2mile mark in 23mins. When I got home and checked my watch because the app somehow managed to knock itself off in my pocket, I had run 40secobds faster than my last run, so if I'd have slowed down maybe I'd have finished the run in one go! Think from now on I'm just going to push on with the longer runs, there's only 1 left that stops for a walk in between the runs anyway, yikes, never thought I'd reach this far, so chuffed that I have, onwards and upwards :-)

Hi, you are doing so well! I have just done W4 R2. I've been struggling to get out as much but still did ok today. Still had to pause twice during the last 5 min run (uphill) but remembered what you said and really slowed down just before the hill. I think that did help a bit. I'm hoping to do the last run of week 4 on Tuesday, if I don't complete the last 5 mins I may repeat one run. How many mins are you running now all in one go?

Well done, you'll get there, it's amazing how suddenly you can run the 20mins on wd5, I'm much slower now than when I started but that way I can complete the runs, and as they say speed comes with time. Haven't followed w6 routine, yesterday run for 25mins, slowed down again and I managed to complete the run, can't believe I run 2miles non stop!! Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd get there. This week will stay with the running 25mins and up it next week, although I'll be on holiday next week so not looking forward to running in the warmth. Prob use the gym and hope its air conditioned!!

Hi samphire - you must be me. I'm 40 in May and 4 stone overweight too. Though if I lost 2 stone I'd be happy I no longer feel the need to look like a supermodel, I just want to be able to wear a skirt above the knee without scaring small children.

Anyway, I did my first run this morning and it felt amazing. I'd been putting it off for ages just because I've been embarrassed at the thought of neighbours and strangers seeing me wobble up the street. I'd even thought of paying gym fees just to use a treadmill, but with thoughts of Caitlin Moran's '9am disco' in mind I just did it. Then joined this forum as no-one in real life is excited for me actually doing it. So a few months on how has it been for you?

Hi,

I'm relatively new to this program and also about 90 pounds overweight. I've always that the only time you would ever see me running is if someone was chasing me with a knife (no, I've never been in that situation). Well, I'm trying to change that. I'm finding that the change of life is adding more weight to my body, so I must do something for my health now before it gets worse.

I started with w1r1 on January 19th, but managed to get a sore knee. Now I'm making sure to take the rest days. I've repeated week 2 a couple times and this week I repeated w1r2 twice. But the good thing is I look forward to getting to the gym now! Now I just need to start eating better...
