W1R1 failed - but not giving up!

It's incredibly hot here in the UK at the moment (at least by our usual standards), so perhaps today wasn't the ideal choice to begin Get Running - but I tried. And I'll try again...
I'm 44, 19 stones (but short with it at 5' 6"), with asthma and high blood pressure - and I've had enough of being fat and unfit. I've been walking with the family for the past week for up to 45/50 minutes at a time with no problems at all. So, I figured it was time to try W1R1.
This morning I stretched, then managed the five minute warm-up walk and the first 1 minute run before my asthma got the better of me and I couldn't hear the podcast I was listening to over the sound of my wheezing - so I had to stop. I knew I was likely to fail, but was determined not to let it get me down. I'll try again in a day or so (I might let the weather cool down first, though!), and will keep going until I can do W1R1. However simple it may seem to some people - it'll be a major goal for me to achieve. From there, I'll repeat days and weeks until I can eventually progress onto W2.
Here's the future!
