Starting app again after about a year

Hey everyone,

I did the app last year til about week 4 and then fell off the bandwagon. Last week, I started the app again, and have completed week 1. I really hope to stay with the running, and do this regardless of what's going on in life. I had started a new job, so that's about when I fell off the bandwagon, and I kept wanting to get back on, and finally, last week, I jumped on it again. I have a friend's wedding that I am going to be in the week after this one, and I know that i won't be able to do one of the runs, as i am supposed to do the run on my friend's wedding day. I really want to stick with the program, so I want to figure out how to stick with it. Will it be okay to take almost a week off? It'll be week 3 for me.

I took 6 days out in the middle of week 5 due to work commitments, I actually think my body appreciated the break, I felt much better when I came back, however, after 2 runs, I came down with a cold and have had to take another 5 days off. I plan to start back where I left off tomorrow, however, I will try it and see whether I need to take a step back, or just slowly shuffle through until I can pick up the pace again. What has helped me to maintain the momentum is the support of 'our gang', the 3 others on here on the same week, watching them pass me by has really inspired to want to catch up, or at least not fall too far behind.
That's just my experiences, hope you find it useful.

I think you'll be okay. There were several occasions while I was doing Couch to 5k where I didn't run for a week, and I always felt great after my long break. The first run after a long break is when I normally break some kind of personal record, whether for speed or distance. I finished Couch to 5k in January, and have been running ever since, but I missed the last week and a half due to extenuating circumstances. Yesterday I finally did a run, and it was literally the best one ever. I ran for a whole hour! Sometimes taking a long break is a good thing.

This is really encouraging I've not run for the last week due to pains in my heals which are just about feeling better I walked down the stairs normally today for the first time. So I'm hoping to get back to it on Wednesday but I won't if I'm not pain free. Im champing at the bit now, really missing it,and i have been cycling and swimming instead.

I'm finally going to go for week 2 I did 2 weeks week 1 on treadmill then 2 weeks again outside.
