I have been running for 5 months now. My fitness level is improving and have had no injuries thankfully. Recently I have noticed upper back pain just under each shoulder blade after I do a longer run. Did 12k lastnight and am in a bad way with back pain this evening. I have read posts about bad posture and the likes I would appreciate a reply from anyone who has ever experienced this and ways to overcome it! Thanks

I get this sometimes, it's very annoying. Like a giant crick right between the shoulderblades that you can't work out while you run. It's never been enough to stop me during a run, but I've definitely considered pausing to sit and give my spine a twist. What helps me get comfortable is to sit cross-legged on the ground, twist so I'm looking backwards, and lean back on my arm. Not too far, just as far as is comfortable. It never fails to make my back crack, and feels so good to get the crick out and be able to go about my day.

If it keeps up, though, consider seeing your doctor. I've spoken with mine about all kinds of running ailments, I'm getting to be quite a regular in her office.
