Hello again
Well this is the night of my third run of week one. today,s program was eight one minute runs. I did it right after coming home from school today and I ran through the park. I always try to wear a little too much clothes whilst running so it will make me sweat a little more. Well what I noticed most of all is that for some reason the first run was the hardest. But I got through it okay

It was just a matter of putting one feet in front of the other.
I felt a lot of uhmm...how shall I describe it, felt my legs less? My legs felt weird I suppose

thats the best way I can describe it i think, twingy maybe? achey? Well I think it went well

I am supposed to rest now untill monday so I will do that.
I have one question for you, how important is the speed that you run at?
I shall write more this coming monday

thank you so much for reading my little posts.
Alex

Hi Alex,
Well done on finishing your first week!
If you find the first run hard, try doing a few 20 or 30 second jogs in your warm up, rather than just walking.
It's up to you, but I wouldn't try to use running to get yourself sweating. I think you'll find you want to be cool, especially as you start to run for a longer time.
Choose a pace that you are comfortable with, is my advice. It varies hugely from person to person. A part of starting to run is finding the speed that you are comfortable at. A guide is that you should just about be able to have a simple conversation while you are running. If your breathing is too heavy for that to be possible, then you should probably slow a little. If you can run and sing opera, you probably need to speed up a bit
With your tingly legs, are you using running shoes that are suitable for you? Also – make sure you really stretch at the end of your run. You want to hold each stretch for half a minute, so you'll be taking a few minutes to do all your stretches.
All the best,
Benjohn
