My New Years resolution this year was to quit smoking. I have accomplished my goal and am looking to take it to the next level. I am excited to become a runner and continue onto a healthy lifestyle path. I am very interested in hearing what you all have to say... Tips and things to keep in mind to help achieve my goals. Also I was wondering if someone could refer me to a website where I can find local runs.

I'm excited to be here and look forward to chatting with you all.

Tom

The biggest advice I can give is this: it's not a competition. Just remember that. Maybe your pace is slower than everyone else's, maybe you have to repeat the weeks several times before you feel ready to move on. As long as you're getting up and trying, that's all that matters!

I am sore as can be today, but I really feel like a million bucks! Yesterday was a great run and I'm really looking forward to tomorrow!

So I just competed W1R2 and i feel great. I can't believe I'm actually doing this. I honestly feel hugely motivated to continue this journey which is something I haven't felt in probably a dozen years. I had a bit of a hard go at it today, a little more struggling but I attribute that to the muscle soreness that is lingering. I also find it nice to write about my runs and how I'm feeling about it all on here. I have been reading all the posts and they are quite encouraging as we'll.

Good Morning all, today is my start date!! I have just finished run 1 day 1 week 1 and feeling good. It was hard work I have to say but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have always wanted to run but being over weight has always held me back, but I now a new outlook on things, I have started weight watchers and hoping this will make me fitter and encourage my weight loss. :D

I have never done any running of any kind, so I am a complete novice any tips and guidance are welcome!
