Week 3 Done!

Hi all,

I am Brian, live in Central Scotland and have decided running is for me.

After joining the gym in August 2010, I have (in spite of work consuming most of my life!) managed to keep steady and reliable and heading for a target of 150 visits or running sessions this year.

I have been "running" outdoors and have completed week 3 of Get Running, using RunKeeper to log my distances etc.

Excellent app, easy to follow and works with other apps on my iPhone, including iPod, perfectly.

Looking forward to week 4, although will be a challenge. Although weeks 1, 2, and 3 have been difficult in their own respect, several times I have done to sessions back to back so I am hoping week 4 will be where the pace starts to make me REALLY struggle!

Anyway, good reading about everyone else's progress. Inspiring book if you need it is:

Hi Brian,

I didn't know you could use runkeeper at the same time as get running? How do you do it?

Can you also listen to your iPod music at the same time?

Thanks,

Belcra

Absolutely. Any iPhone with up to date software can run multiple apps.

The voice prompts in Get Running fade down the iPod and even if Run Keeper and GetRunning compete for volume it does not cause it any problems.

Double click you main centre button and the icons will appear at the bottom of your screen to scroll through. Ideal.

B.

Hi,

Just a small clarification. Not all iPhone support multitasking. The original iPhone, and the iPhone 3G do not have multitasking. Get Running will still work with the iPod App on these models though (because the iPod App is special and is always able to multitask). Also, it will work with Nike+ on these models (again, Nike+ is a special App and always multitasks).

On the iPhone 3Gs and iPhone 4, you can run any other App with Get Running, including Run Keeper or Run Meter (etc). Many users use one of these Apps to tack their distance.

Thanks,
Benjohn

Thanks for both answers. Starting week 6 tomorrow. Have an iPhone 4 so looking forward to using runkeeper to track distance along with get running. Best app I've ever used by the way.
