Week 1, Day 1, Day 1 of quiting smoking also!!

I have decided to make a lifestyle change and today is my first day. I am going to do this program as well as stopping smoking. I am not active and I have never ran so this should be a positive challenge for me. I have been a smoker for almost 12 years mow and I am ready to quit. I am a 26 year old female weighing 220 pounds at 5'5". I have a 6 year old son and a 5 month old daughter. I want to live healthy to teach them good living/eating habits. I am mainly doing this for myself though. I have always been in shape and very active until I became preganant with my son and since then I have glued myself to the couch and have taken up awful eating habits. I really would enjoy it for my husband to join me so that we cam both motivate and encourage each other. My husband however is completely against the idea. He says that he has been overweight his whole life and is used to it. How can I encourage him to get healthy with me? For himself and his family?
