Painful Hips

Hi All,
I am on week 2 and since the very first run my hip has been getting more and more painful. I couldn't complete my run yesterday so I ended up walking the last 2 runs. I have been in considerable pain for several days now. My 2 daughters were born with hip problems and both have had to wear leg braces. Their hips were not formed properly at birth, my youngest has one leg longer than the other and wears a shoe insert.
The only other time I have had a problem with my hip is when I was pregnant and it was put down to bursitis.
I feel very frustrated. I'm not sure whether to follow up with medical treatment, which if it is the same as my daughters condition there is nothing to fix it but a hip replacement. or give up and try something with less impact like cycling. The trouble is my mind wants to run! Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions or had similar issues with joint pains?
Cheers.

Probably worth having it looked at by a sports physio or sports doctor. There's a host of different things it could be. Glad you are keeping up with the walking - but don't hurt your hip without getting it checked out.
