hello every one, can anyone tell me what knee supports would be good for running, I've been looking online and have seen a few, mainly patella knee supports which I think would be good for me but I'm totally clueless lol! do they magnetic ones really work or am I wasting my money? should I just get a
plain patella strap or should I just buy the bigger over the knee support, help!!

I think under normal circumstances you don't need knee supports, but if your knees are hurting while running, I think you'd better visit a doctor or a physiotherapist to advise you what kind of support (or other treatment) would work for you.

Hi. It may be your VM (vastus medialis) muscles which need a bit of work doign to them. If they are a bit weak you can get mis-tracking of your patella leading to pain (patellofemoral syndrome). Use Google to look at "vastus medialis exercises". Find something do-able for you. If still having probs I agree with Petra - see a physio or a doc. I'd not bother with magnetic thingys. Sound a waste of money to me (Mike - am a GP - but not a sports specialist)
