Endurance

Just finished w5r2, and I really am nervous about the next run(20 min straight!). The eight minute runs were very tough. I'm on a treadmill, and I'm wondering: what is a good speed that others use? I've been doing 6mph, but may need to scal it down for the next one.

Almost everyone here had the same feeling. If you browse back a bit on this forum, you'll see plenty of posts about this.
I felt the same as you do now, but I can reassaure you: it is doable! Don't ask me how it works, but it works. Don't start too fast, and slow down even more when you're getting tired, but you'll see: you can do it!

Don't know what speed I ran at for w5r3. I run outdoors and was not measuring pace then. I remember just thinking that the 20min run was just like bolting together two 8 min runs and adding 4mins in-between. As Petra says - keep your pace as slow as you like. The aim is for endurance - not speed. And wait till Coach Claire says something at the end of the 20 min run. It gave me a real lift!
