Re: Being unwell

Me too. It's so frustrating. Don't worry if the intention is there you'll be back with it in no time. Get well soon.

Re: Week 5 run 3 - solid 20 mins (eek!)

Big step back for me too. I ran on boxing day; there were far too many people out in the park, of course! I am really self conscious running and I run just that bit faster when there's people around, and I'm always trying to decide whether to start the walking section just before I get to people or ...

Festive seasonal running disorder?

Agh! I tried to run on boxing day, week 6 run 3 only to discover the effects of over indulgence; too much cake, roast dinner, late nights drinking and chocolate. There was no way I could run for 25 mins without stopping. I'm going to have to start the week again, maybe several times. I feel like I'v...

Re: Day 3 Running in Vibram 5 fingers shoes

I too run almost barefoot. I hadn't really run before starting this programme, well at least not for over 20 years. I had been walking barefoot more in the summer though. So I really started from scratch and knew I had to be extra mindful of my step. At the beginning (after a very brief lias with tr...

I ran with a hangover yesterday which was a first! But I am determined not to get behind. Not sure about the run I have scheduled for Christmas day though ....

Re: Week 5 run 3 - solid 20 mins (eek!)

Well done everyone for getting this far! I hope I haven't fallen too far behind you lot. I've been away for a few days but managed to fit in w5r2 whilst away. And how splendid it was to be running (yes running) in a new landscape. I love walking but would not normally get up so early to walk. I real...

Re: W4 to W5 & cranking it up a notch!

I've just run w5r1. Like you I struggled with week 4 and was really sure I needed to repeat the week, I had to stop and walk a little on the 5 minute runs on the first day and after that I felt I was going incredibly slowly. This morning though I thought, 'hey I'll give week 5 a try, it's a beautifu...

Re: Halfway through the programme

Hi there. I've just done w4r2 too, I hadn't realised it was half way until I saw your post. That thought makes me feel very happy!!! What an achievement! As to the aches and pains, I too have been noticing that my ankles and calves are weak, I'm having to go really quite slowly on the 5 minute run. ...
