Ready to quit, and move on to something new

Ok so, I ran 18 mins of week 7 run 1 today. I'm starting to doubt the use of long distance running. From what I've read its of little use For cardiovascular health, doesn't burn much fat and can infact inhibit muscle growth. I find running for this length of time uncomfortable, nauseating and boring...

Re: incline on treadmill, advice needed

Wow, well done on a year of running! Don't get too hung up on the speed you run. I'm a young guy and I make sure to run slowly as I think you'll get more benefit from it. Don't be discouraged, I repeated week 5 and it was worth it. I'm getting in shape for the army officer selection, and I know I'm ...

Re: Putting off progressing through week 5

Re: incline on treadmill, advice needed

I agree, you should run outside. Find a relatively flat place, like a park. Run as slowly as you can and in the last minute or so you can run fast if you want to.

Re: Week 5, Run 2

I've just noticed this should be 'Week 5, Run 3'. 1. I was running in jogging bottoms and a t-shirt, with a back pack on. 2. People looked curious and maybe a bit annoyed that I was running in a busy street. I'm a tall young guy though, so I guess nothing too bizarre really. 3. It was my savings, I ...

Week 5, Run 3

I smashed out this run yesterday. I needed to get to the bank in Leeds city centre before they closed at 4:30PM. I left the house at 4:00PM, walked briskly up to the park, then started my run. I went through the park, out the other sides to the back streets leading into the city, including running t...
