Ok so, I ran 18 mins of week 7 run 1 today. I'm starting to doubt the use of long distance running. From what I've read its of little use
For cardiovascular health, doesn't burn much fat and can infact inhibit muscle growth.
I find running for this length of time uncomfortable, nauseating and boring. Although I love the app, I think the first 5 weeks are the most useful. I'm considering quitting the slow 5ks and starting a sprinting programme. I feel it will be more beneficial to my health and fitness.
What do you think?

I think you should do what you're comfortable with.
I had a similar experience with kettlebells. I loved everything about the idea of them - cheap equipment, could be used in a small space at any time of day, a total variation of exercises, short workout sessions, and both builds strength and zaps off fat. But once I actually did them I found the intensity too much for my liking. The benefits were clear and fast, but there would just be dread at the idea of another wipeout session.
Some people dig that. Some people dig the benefits of long-distance running. I think knowing what you want is the hard part.

Enjoying what you're doing is paramount, so good for you for realizing that running isn't your thing! There are so many ways to be active and get fit that it might take you a while to find your niche, but I'm sure you'll have fun experimenting until you find what's right for you.
Best of luck!
