Re: New

Well done. I'm back on week 6 for the 2nd time as I had a nasty virus and had to take 3 weeks off. Ran week 5 run 3 this week and it was hard but very ok. Stick with it. I really struggled most weeks and wondered if it would ever get easier but I'm getting there. Week 3 saw me very close to vomiting...

Bad virus

I was halfway through week 6 when I got a really nasty virus and couldn't run for 3 weeks. Coming back was really hard and I ended up running a week 3 run when I came back. 10 days later though -today- I have just run the infamous week 5 run 3 and it felt better than last time. Thank you to all of y...

Re: Nasty virus

Thanks Dawn. Really appreciate the encouragement. I am going to go out tomorrow evening and aim for a good week 4 run and will go further if it feels ok. I am competing in the Fastnet yacht race in August and am seeking to improve my general fitness. Don't want to lose my momentum now!!!

Nasty virus

Well, 2 weeks ago I ran week6R1 but have been really poorly. Feeling better now though still coughing. Want to start running again. Should I repeat week 5 or go back further. Desperate to get back in the groove.

Re: I did it!!

Well done scouser. I've just done week 6 run 1 having nearly killed myself finishing week 5. The rest days are to let you repair and avoid injury but I will confess that I have overruled the programme a few times without ill effects.

Re: Survived week 5 run 3 (but it was close!!!)

Run1 week 6... Tick. In torrential rain and very windy. Not too bad actually as I don't like getting hot. Saw some dog walkers who obviously thought I was the local lunatic. The hair straighteners have been working hard today. The run was not that easy but I did push the pace for the first 5, 8 minu...

Survived week 5 run 3 (but it was close!!!)

Tonight I survived week 5 run 3 but it was really really hard. Run 2 felt really good but today just felt wrong, even from the 1st 5 minutes... But- I DID IT ANYWAY!!!!!! I ran (well staggered) for 20 minutes without stopping and I feel very brave!!!! When the voice told me that I had run for the re...
