Have a quick go with the search here and on Google, there are quite a few links here to good articles on the web.

Also, look at warming up really well and stretching well (taking a few minutes over it) before and after your run. You might want to check your shoes suit you. Finally, R.I.C.E. is a good treatment for shin splints and helps recovery

I am in week 3 and have just finished run 1. Really enjoying this program but am suffering with shin splints I do not want to stop! I am hoping that this painful problem will go away because for the first time in a long time have a real sense of acheivement. I do my running on a treadmill as can do work out while looking after my two children. Have googled shin splints and followed the advice given. Just wondering if this problem will go away or will always suffer with it, if any one can help please let me know. Regards
