7 week tiredness

Post by sharon82 »

Please help!!! Ive been using Run Keeper for the last 6 weeks with great success but unfortunatly I am having major problems with the 25 minute runs. I am new to running and my speed isnt exaclty fast... but at lease I am giving it a go. Has anyone got any tips or advice on making this period of the run and easier?

Thanks Sharon

Don't worry if you're finding it's tricky – it's going to get easier and easier (or rather, you're going to get better and better).

You say you're running slow, but don't worry about that – pick the pace you're comfortable at.

If you need to, step back to slightly shorter runs and do those for a while until you're definitely comfortable, and then move on and conquer the 25 minutes (and more).

You might like to do a Google for "running form" and read what a few web pages have to say on it. Here's one I found on Cool Running (they've got lots of good info):

http://www.active.com/running/Articles/ ... g-form.htm

… don't obsess about it all though, just try to be aware of it now and then, and try to improve it as you go.

Final thought – during your warm up, try going a few little 30 seconds jogs. Somehow it makes the real runs easier!

Hope some of that helps :-) You're doing great! Keep on going!
