I'm a 39 yr old guy and this has been one of the most exciting decisions of my life! I just did week 6, day 3 yesterday and feel awesome! I've NEVER stopped ONCE during my entire training so far and I can feel my body just getting better, faster, stronger, healthier.... (Of course, stopping smoking and eating healthy helps too!)
I tend to also add a little extra if I can to each run (an extra minute, extra run, or a sprint). Also, I run every other day and have never taken the 2 day rest in between weeks. Although I have felt like it, I have never not rested the one day... I ran yesterday and want to run today but I've been warned heavily not to do that. The last thing I want is to screw up a good thing. So, I should be done by mid-January... right in time for my 1st 5k!!
