Just starting!

Post by Beckly »

Hi, I'm Becky

I've never been much of one for running, but have noticed myself turning into a complete couch potato! This app seemed perfect for getting me up and running, and people seem to be saying a lot of good things!

I'm planning to run my first in the morning - I'm really nervous in case I find out I'm actually so unfit I can't even run that!

I'd like some encouragement from others who felt like this? My main aims are to increase stamina, lose a little weight and tone up - I'm also doing excercises such as scrunches

Hope to hear from you soon!

Hello
I was really surprised when I first went out as running for 1 min doesn't sound that challenging and yet I found it really difficult, it really worried me how hard it was for me. I am now at the end of week two and while it is still challenging it is a great feeling to know you have stuck to it and that it is doing some good. I can't imagine 3 min or 8 min runs
( never mind 30) but seeing how I have come on in these short runs gives me confidence that with time I can do it.
If I can get to this point so can anyone.
stick with it.

Hi, I am eilidh, I am a teenager and generally quite sporty, I am in a swimming club and I dance for four hours solidly on a Thursday night however I just can't run! It's starting to hold me back in pe because I can't run for more than a minute at the moment. So I thought I would try this, any tips for getting started?

Hey,
I never did manage to get started, because I lost my headphones! I'm sorted now and have set my alarm for 6am to get running before there's a chance anyone sees me!

I'm predicting I will look a complete state so running in the dark will be good :-)

I also cannot imagine running for 20 seconds let alone 20 minutes! I know this is going to be hard, but only determination will get me through it. I have an inspiring playlist made and am raring to go - will probably feel very different in the morning!

I did race for life as a kid and usually walked most of It - despite the nagging of my "fitness freak" friend who ran with me. Hopefully, some time soon I will be able to keep up with her!

Thank you for your replies, I'll let you know how tomorrow goes!

I did it!!
Well, half of it - I felt sick and pushed as hard as I could but has to stop when she said "you've run halfway".
I'm a little disappointed but it's further and longer than I've managed to run in years - I guess I just need to be a little more gradual than some people - it feels amazing to know I've actually started a proper fitness regime :-)

Hi there

Am new to this and just finished my run 1 week 1. Wasn't too difficult
Prolly because I am tiny weeny bit active. I find it really refreshing and motivating reason the posts. I am 29 and weigh about 140. Need to lose about ten pounds. I am about 5"6-5"7. I so far like the program and would like to know how everyone Is doing. Would like to know if there is a way I coul find out the distance I run. Any suggestions?
