36 year old male, 17 1/2 stone. Gonna start using this app on Friday as a weapon in my mission! My mission is to get down to 13 stone by some time this summer.
My weapons of choice are a total change in diet as be quite honest, it really couldn't get much worse! 6 weeks in now, started of with good paced 3 mile dog walks 3/4 times a week and now time to introduce running via this app for help, and cycling in between. It's gonna hurt at first but I'm not backing out again- just got to many reasons to sort my lazy backside once and for all!
When and not if I get to 13 stone, running well, cycling well, gonna throw in some swimming soon, then, and only then will I train to do the London marathon for The Christie hospital, Manchester. I hope to do this run with my eldest son 11 years old.
NO MORE BACKING OUT, NO MORE EXCUSES and I'm focused like a bulldozer!!
On a mission!!
Re: On a mission!!
Well done for getting yourself so motivated, you're a real inspiration. I'm starting my 'mission' tomorrow morning, i'm 38 years old and i've got about 4 stone to lose by September for a friend's wedding (i'm going to be one of her many bridesmaids), so i'm planning to do weights and resistance work in between my runs I'VE JUST GOT TO SHIFT THE MANY SPARE TYRES!!! I wish you luck on Friday and really admire your determination....keep it up, and there's nothing better than having a race and a good cause to keep you going - and surely you can't get better than the London Marathon... although 26.2 terrifies the life out of me right now...GO FOR IT!!!!!!

Re: On a mission!!
I'd say good luck to you, but as I'm sure your aware, luck doesn't play a part does it!! No one can do it for us but it and I'm not lucky enough for 4 1/2 stone to accidentally fall off in the middle of the night!! But I have woke up to the fact that it is possible if we stop lying to ourselves then it can be done with hard work and determination. I know you will be in that dress no problem if you really want it, so instead of good luck, all the best and DON'T give up this time, just do it!
