1st run in 6 months!!!

Post by Nicjayrob »

Well, tonight was my first run in 6 months & i'm so pleased with myself!!!!
I originally started running wit this app early to mid last year, however, my other half who is in the forces, had to go away for four months so i had to give it up as i found it very difficult to get out in the evenings with two young children at home. I was gutted cause i was really enjoying it. I always go in the evening when the kids are in bed! It just blows all the cobswebs and the stresses of the day away!
Anway, i recently have taken up a fitness class & a boxercise class and these have both improved my fitness levels quite alot recently so i figured it was about time to take up my running again!!
I started wit week 3 run 1, and totally smashed it!!! So pleased wit myself. On the 2nd 3min run, i just kept running into the cool down and managed to run for 7 mins! I prob could've run for a bit longer, but i ended up at home!!! I honestly belive that i will be able to do the 20 min run coming up! I have a feeling i'll struggle, but i KNOW i can it!!!!

:-) Excellent – I'm glad you're back in to it!

If you can hold yourself back, take it easy and build up gently though! :-) Your body's stronger from all the exercise you've been doing, but your joints might not be ready for the extra work they'll be getting while working, so it's worth building them up gently. I think if you continue from where you have, you'll be fine.
