First run is done!!!

Post by Superdub49 »

I just finished week 1 day 1 and oh boy, not as easy as I thought it would be to start running. I was expecting a 1 minute run with 1 1/2 minute walks to be easy. I wanted to stop so bad but the encouraging english womans voice kept me going. At the end I realized my treadmill incline was on 6 so I am going to turn it down for wendesdays run. I will turn it back up once I get into better shape but for now I am going to start slow. Will it always be this hard? Once I start running more will it become just a bit more enjoyable and less miserable. But anywho, I feel great right now. A little sore but I feel different than normal. Lifes a lot more enjoyable for the moment. Thank you so much for this app and I hope to run a 5k race before 2012.

Well done on surviving the first run! It does get easier and more enjoyable very quickly. I used to run on the treadmill but did this program outside and it's way more enjoyable as you can see your improvement with distance much better and I think it gives you more of a sense of achievement. I'd consider that if you have somewhere decent to run. Best of lu k either way.
