Hi
I just finished wk 8 day 1 and I simply powered through and ended up running for 35 mins. I had doubts that I could cope when I’d got to wk 4 and after posting on here and reading the replies I’m just getting stronger and stronger and I’m so proud of myself. Being overweight, my thoughts on running was that it was always 'for others' but today I got up put on my shoes I felt so strong, I felt like a runner and I just knew that I could run longer than the 28 minutes and I just kept running with a grin on my face!! I think everyone at the gym thought I was crazy!! Now I just have to try and conquer running outside as I still have difficulties with managing my breathing (I have asthma) so can only run for about 10mins at a time but I just KNOW that I will eventually be able to do it. Thank you so much Benjohn, your programme is brilliant and I can't wait until you do the next one!!!

Well done to you!! I hope I can master up to week 8! Are you finding you are losing much weight from the programme? I considered joining the gym to do the running as running outside leaves me breathless and ready to curl up on the pavement and die!! But I did week 1 run 1 today around my house/village and although it was a little difficult and my breath was still laboured, I did it! And I was so proud! If you can do up to week 8 on a treadmill you are so ready to get outside! You can do it!!
I love this program to. I am finishing up week 6 and can't believe I am doing it. I am down one size and 13 pounds. Not all of the weight loss happened since I started running but I can assure you that 4 pounds has been a result of the running.
Yes I've managed to get to running for 35 minutes outside now. I'm plodding along ever so slowly but Im still out there! I have noticed that my jeans are much looser and Ive started weightwatchers so hoping to be able to get in my old jeans in a couple of months. Keep it up guys, we are gaining so much from this. X
Hi. I love this too and have told everyone I know about it! I have just finished week 4 and am a bit worried about what's to come next week. I am running outside and find my lungs give up before my legs do. I cant wait to have a load of energy to run for ages. I am really proud of myself for getting as far as I have. I don't think I've run for 5 minutes in my life until now!I too, need to lose weight. I read once that running is for fitness while diet is for weight loss. It' so true. I can see my legs are changing shape. I am also writing a blog about my running experience and weight loss. I find this really motivates me to keep it going and not to give up. Happy running guys http://www.42lbstolose.blogspot.com
“Suddenly, I was part of something. I was part of the running community. The more open I was about my running, the more open others were about theirs. I found out that runners love to talk about running.”
