Hi everyone,
I've just finished week 2 and I'm dreading week 3!
I'm 25 and not overweight but quite unfit. I started running to get fitter, healthier and lose a few pounds. I've found the runs so far quite difficult due to bad asthma and by the end of the 1.5 minute runs I am gasping for breath! I have managed to do them all though. I'm dreading the 3 minute runs in week 3 though and can't see myself being able to manage them.
Did anyone else have any problems moving from week 2 to week 3?
Does anyone else have asthma and can you give me any advice on running with asthma?
Thanks guys!
Just finished week 2!

Re: Just finished week 2!
Hello! - I have just finished run 2 of week 3. I am just a bit overweight but also unfit (and 47!) and I have found the weeks quite difficult but I have finished each run without stopping. My advice is not to panic, keep a positive mental attitude and slow down for the longer runs. I sometimes play music I don't like and think things like, when this horrible track is over I'll have done my run (we all have our ways of coping!!)
I do have faith in the app - I think at the end of each week you think how am I going to manage next week (I'm thinking that about week 4) but I trust these guys seem to know what they are doing. Also reading the other messages it seems OK to repeat a week, I would if I really didn't think I was up to it.
I don't suffer from asthma so I can't advise there but I would say listen to your body. It's not a race (yet!
)
I hope that helps you - I think many people feel a little overwhelmed at the end of a week.

Re: Just finished week 2!
If you're really concerned, make sure that you take the longer runs slower, and make sure you control your breathing as much as possible. Keep your breathing at a steady pace as well, that will help a lot. Especially since you have asthma, the faster you breathe, the worse you are going to make it on yourself. Just take it slow.

Hi guys!
I made it! Just finished week 3 run 1! I managed to run for the whole of the 3 min runs- albeit a little slower than normal.....but I made it!!
I even think the running might be improving my asthma as it's not bothering me as much as when I started.
I've even signed up to a 5K in August to give me something to aim for!
