Well done Ian. It's great that you ran solid for 15 mins. Imagine doing that three weeks ago! I think the jump form 8mins to 20mis is quite a hurdle. And I bet - had there not been the head wind - you would have managed it. I have come to realise that running into the wind is tough! Great news about your 1kg weight loss. Keep at it. Any journey can have detours. You just happened to take a detour today - but you are still doing the journey and I bet in a few weeks you'll be running well beyond 20 mins. Mike

Update: I finished week 6 yesterday. And I ran the full 25 mins. I'm delighted because that means I don't have to repeat.

What I learned: Slow down, slow down , slow down. Really concentrating on that the whole time meant I din't start speeding up again. Listening to my breathing to make sure it was not turning into a pant helped. As did nose only breathing for the first 5 minutes.

I didn't bother going off to the track... just ran my usual bumpy route. Now that message at the end of week 5 applies to me... It didn't last week. Looking forward to Week 7. It feels like I have just graduated from "complete beginner" to "improving runner". I can taste the 5k!
