Re: obese runners
Sorry to read you are not well.
I can understand your worry about missing the runs. I am scared to miss them incase I go off track permanently. Was bedridden for a day last week and so missed my scheduled run. It even stopped me eating ( that never happens).
But for the first time in my life I was determined not to not run and did so next day and felt 100% better. I'm not saying run when you are unwell , just pointing out that this program has made me so motivated that I don't jump at any excuse to get out of exercise ie weather, that time of the month, work, feeling a bit off. Thankyou. I've never been so happily committed to anything. A personal trainer would tailor a workout to my needs, fat and unfit,
but with this program I can be anonymous and do the same as other normal people.
hope you feel better soon and the runs go well. I'm certain they will.

Re: obese runners
Finishing week 3 tomorrow. I feel great, losing weight slowly between this program and Weight Watchers. WW is having a 5k nationwide on June 6th, I am planning on jogging it instead of running it. I will be finishing this program on that June 6th if I continue on track. Glad to have the support. I was afraid I would get attacked by others.
Re: obese runners
It's great to hear it's still going well. I am sorry that you would feel that you might be 'attacked' but I know what you mean - I guess over the years those of us on the larger side have to put up with a lot of c**p from other people. I think it happens less as you get older!!! lol Anyway - like I said you are out there running, getting fit and enjoying it.... so just be proud and glad of that...... I ran part way on the road for the first time today and spotted myself in a shop window ...and had a fleeting moment of thought...'oh dear... ' I thought...but then I remembered how brilliant i felt...so stuff anyone else!

Re: obese runners
Hello All
I am considered obese also (BMI 39.4 and weigh in at 18st 8lbs) many years ago I used to be considered fit, but with work commitments and young children the weight has piled on and the fitness disappeared.
I am running this alongside doing weight watchers and my aim is to lose weight and regain some of my previous fitness.
I am on week 3 run 2 and surprisingly I am enjoying it. I do run on a treadmill in a gym and not outside. mainly. becuase as you mention I am not the stick thin runner shape and I live in a very hilly village. I also like the fact that I can monitor and record the distances and average speeds I am running.
My aim is to complete at least on of the seasons 5k runs this year in under 30 mins. Fingers Crossed.

How is everyone doing? I am on Week 5 and I am actually finding it easier than week 4 which so far has been the hardest week. I am also on week 3 of Weight watchers. Still planning on jogging the Weight watchers 5k June 6th. Hope everyone is staying healthy and motivated.
Re: obese runners
Hi all Again
I am now on Week 6, I found run 3 of week 5 a challenge but got through it and feel good.
Looking forward to try and increase the distance and speed over the next couple of weeks.
How is everyone else doing?

Hi.
I've just been checking things out trying to decide between apps. This thread, and the wonderful information on the home page for the app have done it for me.
