Great North Run!

Post by Johntownfan »

Hi all,
Started Get Running on New Year's Day, now starting week 7 and loving it. Just found out that I've been accepted to run in the Great North Run in September where I hope to complete a half marathon and at the same time raise a few quid for Diabetes UK (I am a type 1 diabetic). Hope I haven't bitten off more than I can chew, better step the training up! Can anyone recommend a good program to follow on from the Couch to 5K??

Thanks

Lots of people who have finished Get Running go on to Bridge to 10k. Most are very pleased with it, though it just isn't the same without Coach Claire.

Personally, I use Nike+ GPS and have found it to be quite nice.

Thanks starknut,

Do you need special running shoes etc for the Nike + GPS?

There is no special equipment needed, besides your iPod or iPhone. Just like Get Running in that respect!
