Everyone has a different gait and therefore requires different shoes: the best thing to do is go to a store that specializes in running shoes and supplies. They can analyze your gait and help you pick shoes that are suitable for you.
As for sports bras, I just bought a cheap four-pack of Hanes sports bras and they've worked out fine for me. Even while I was nursing my son, they were great. I've had them over a year now and they're still holding up nicely.
I've just bought a Freya sports bra from bravissimo. It's brilliant! It's actually sn unerwired one and doesn't look that different from a conventional bra. So comfortable and keeps everything nicely where it should be!
I love my Nike running shoes, it's best to have your gait assessed. If you are more generously proportioned on top, I swear by the Enell bra. It is a hook front closure, no underwire, wicking material, and the ladies don't move AT ALL. Traditional sports bras have not worked well for me, and I have had my Enells for three years, they look brand new, even though I run/work out in them weekly.
“Suddenly, I was part of something. I was part of the running community. The more open I was about my running, the more open others were about theirs. I found out that runners love to talk about running.”
