Hi Matt and benjohn,
I've just started week 2, I'm about 5 stones heavier than would be perfect for me and this is an inspirational and good fun way to get fit and hopefully lose weight. I've been a cyclist all my life and spent the last two years in 1:1 Pilates. I've had to recover from years of undiagnosed hyperthyroidism......... It's so wonderful to be well and having said all my life I hate running, I might be changing my mind......it's a really brilliant well thought through and well presented program, I will write again at week Five and let you know how I feel then........ I think you made a convert......you might have helped me change my life. Well done chaps !!! X :D

Well folks, I posted a couple months back that I only got partway through week 1 run 1 and I am now happy to say I have finished it completely! I admit I had to pause the process halfway through and catch my breath for a moment, but I was finally able to complete that run. My problem is that I've now got the exact same kind of pain in my lower legs that I did the first time...it is imperative I invest in proper shoes, it seems! Should I continue repeating week 1 run 1 until it becomes a bit easier for me, or shall I just keep following the program normally and let my endurance build as I progress? Cuz I must say, this is quite difficult...

Hi

I am an overweight 40 year old needing to get of my bottom and do something. I have already lost a stone and this should speed up the process. So I have downloaded Get Running today and will do my first run this evening. I am just downloading some decent music to my phone.

Wish me luck.

I'm a running newbie from the states, Texas to be specific, and I'm taking a trip to London in August for a week long therapy training. My excitement for the trip has me convinced that it's a good motivator to get into great shape, so that I can have all the confidence I am capable of while I'm there. I have no idea how many stones I need to lose, but 10-15 pounds would be ideal. :) The reviews for this program were impossible to ignore, so I downloaded the app and start today.
Cheers!

Hi everybody! I'm Mattie, from the States. I'm 40 some, need to lose some weight, and am not in super shape although I do a fair amount of walking, hiking and biking. A relative just ran his first marathon at age 40 and so several of us felt inspired try a 10K in five months - although everyone else has done at least some running as an adult, and I haven't run since school. So I got the app; I really like how I can still listen to music and am told when to walk, and when to run.

I just finished the W1R1 and thought I was going to die! (It looks so much easier when the marathoners are doing it. ) But I made it. Reading everyone else's comments is making me feel so much better - I feel like I can do it too! The thought of me being able to run for 30 minutes at a time seems so wonderful and so hard to believe at the same time. I can't wait to look back at the progress I have made.

Hello. I just completed w1r2. I am surprised that I have been able to compete 2 runs. Actually, on r1 there was a point when I thought I would pass out, but thank God I didn't. Didn't feel like I was going to pass out today! Big accomplishment. I am 46 years old and overweight. I have always hated running! I have a 16 year old son who is a natural born runner. He runs to feel normal. I have always been jealous of people like that. My friend started the program last week and invited me to join her and her group. I decided to give it a whirl. Right now, I am actually feeling confident and good. I have not registered for a 5k yet, but I will. My goal is to be able to run with my son and love it. BTW- I live in California.

Hi,

I live in North West London and just started running outside this week.

I absolutely love the App!! I am off for my wk1 R2 and really looking forward to it. I have always hated running but determined to change that. I bought specialist running shoes and they are so comfortable much better than my usual gym trainers.

I am scheduled to start w2 on Sunday fingers crossed! I would like to run a5k in the summer without stopping-

Hi everyone. Just moved half way round the world (to Melbourne from the UK) and thought to myself that if I can do something as scary as that, I might be able to do something as scary as starting to run. I have always hated running - hated even the thought of it - but here we are and I'm going to give it a go. Just completed w1r1 - hard but not a killer, though I reckon it's going to get worse. Don't know if I'm gong to keep it up, but let's see. Helped at the sun was shining and it's a beautiful day. Will I do it in the rain....?
