calories?
Re: calories?
I would suggest running a secondary app in the background to track distance and other stuff. I use mapmyrun and Nike+ (they each have some features I like so I use both, but you only need one)
My first workout was 141 calories, but that could vary with you based on speed and other factors.

I also recommend a second app that runs in the background. I use the runmeter app. They have their own 5k program, but you can edit the times to reflect this app, as the running lengths are different. Anyway, the standard is that each mile completed is approximately 100 calories burned and this goes for if you were walking or running.

Re: calories?
My iPhone is the old 3G so I can't run 2 apps at once, I do however have an android phone paid for by work, on which I run endomondo, which is great for tracking distance, calories, etc. I also use a heart rate monitor which gives me calories, fat burn, etc. Calories burned depend upon your height/ weight etc I tend to burn around 200-250 per time if that's any guide for you. (I'd probably burn less if I wasn't weighed down by 2 phones and the hrm!)
