New and unsure on where to go?

Post by craiggreen83 »

All,

Brand new to this and am going to start tomorrow but when I leave my house tomorrow to do the interval training of walking and running, how do I know how far I should be going from home? Should I have a circuit or a length of road?

Any ideas please.

Good luck on your first run! One of the many great things about the app is that your running coach on your app will let you know when you are at the half way mark on your time and will tell you to turn around and head home! I live for that "turn around" time because it means I am half way done!!!!!

As long as you're familiar with the area you're running, or at least remember how to get back, just keep going. Coach Claire will tell you when you've reached the halfway point and should turn around. It's a wonderful feature!

I actually like running in an area that I'm not very familiar with, I find that discovering my surroundings distracts me from the job in hand, just remember to turn around when she tells you too.

I totally agree about running in places I have never run before. For now, I stick to my large neighborhood, but the last week or so I have been running the same route and I am realizing I need to change it up. I hate knowing where my approximate half way point will be, etc. I tend to not turn around and just keep taking streets that I know will eventually lead me back to my house. I usually time it pretty well because once my five minute cool down walk is done I am either home or somewhat close to home.
