Why do I run better on my own?

Post by bex17 »

Grrrr I am finding it so much better running on my own but my sister has been getting me to run with her as much as possible but I find I can't concentrate/focus when I'm with her and fail miserably. I ve been telling everyone how well I'm doing but the minute I'm with someone I lose it and only manage a minute at a time  it's soooo frustrating.
I'm supposed to be going over to hers for a run this eve but I've got noooooo ooomppfff to go and have a crappy run.

I'm better only own too. I put on my headphones and it just clears my head, all I think about is the music and getting to the end if the run it's almost relaxing ( if it wasn't so knackering). It's my time on my own I away from all the stresses I have around me at the moment.
I know exactly where you're coming from, can't you think up some polite excuse to get away on your own, difficult I know.
Best of luck

I did exactly that. I cancelled as it was tipping it down, she doesnt like going out in the rain. I love it. So I went out at 9pm, and just like you put in my earphones, shut out the outside world and its just me and my thoughts. I cant believe I havent tried this running lark before lol :D
Its so theraputic, like you say it just clears my head.
Its not so easy to find enthusiasm to get myself out on a run with everything else going on but when I do it makes me feel amazing after.
My race for life is on Sunday and Im resigned to the fact it will be that busy the chance to actually keep my concentration and run is very low and will probably walk it but Im finding I am no longer doing this just for Sunday. I plan to keep going
Yay us!!

Yay for you doing the race for life. I did it a couple of years ago really must do it again. It was fantastic brilliant atmosphere such a buzz when you've finished. Good luck for it hope the weather is good for you but not too hot ( not much chance of that at the moment.
Here's to solitary running!!
